This project started with a simple question: why does “accessible” design still feel so unwelcoming?
Focusing on academia, mindfulness, and fitness, I explored how institutional visual language quietly pushes perfection, conformity, and a very specific idea of who’s allowed to succeed. Turns out, being technically legible doesn’t stop something from feeling intimidating, alienating, or just… not right.
Using semiotics, the social model of disability, and a healthy distrust of the phrase “achieve excellence,” I developed a series of illustrative posters that poke at these systems. Think hyperbole authority, interrupted perfection and small moments that remind us that we are all a bit wobbly.
The goal isn’t to tear design down society but rather to make space for messier, more relatable versions of success that people can actually dictate for themselves.
